Spring ONR Lecture Series (2 of 3)
Dr. Beima-Sofie is Senior Research Scientist in the Department of Global Health at the University of Washington. She is a qualitative researcher within the fields of behavioral and implementation science, serving as core faculty for the UW/FHCRC Center for AIDS Research Behavioral Science Core and affiliate faculty for the Developmental AIDS Research Center for Mental Health P30 Methods Core to provide expertise in qualitative methods. Dr. Beima-Sofie’s research interests have coalesced around understanding factors that influence the health of women, children and adolescents impacted by HIV. Her current research projects focus on evaluating interventions and national programs for adolescents affected by HIV in Kenya, including programs and policies around HIV disclosure, transition from pediatric to adult care, health provider interventions that optimize treatment support, and provision of PrEP to pregnant women, adolescent girls and people who use drugs.
